About

PASSIONATE ABOUT THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT

We provide services to many different sectors in the blue economy, helping businesses and regulators operate sustainably and responsibly in the world’s oceans.

Experienced, reliable, ethical and forward-thinking

Since our establishment in 2014, we have played a vital role in some of the UK’s most significant marine infrastructure projects. Over the years, we have grown into a leading provider of marine ecological services, supporting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), delivering monitoring programmes, and applying research on a global scale.

Our success stems from a team of highly skilled marine and data scientists who share the passion and values of our founders. Continuous investment in laboratories, field equipment, and operations ensures we deliver excellence and remain at the forefront of innovation. With techniques like semi-automated mapping, eDNA analysis, and 3D photogrammetry, we provide faster, more accurate results while minimising the impacts of development on the marine environment.

In 2024, we became part of DNV. This partnership, built on shared values, has allowed us to expand our capabilities and further enhance the quality of our services in the blue economy.

Our teams

We operate from laboratory and office facilities in Gloucester, Oban and Plymouth with our headquarters and admin base located in Gloucester.

Our survey teams are highly mobile to meet the diverse demands of projects, while some of our consultants work remotely to provide flexible and responsive support.

What unites all our teams is a shared passion for the work we do and the marine environment.

Recruitment

We are an expanding company in a growing sector. We are always on the
look-out for marine scientists and other personnel who share our values. And we recruit regularly.

Our assets

We use our own resources wherever possible in all areas of our work. This helps us maintain schedules and standards while keeping down costs.
Our survey equipment includes boats, hovercraft, bespoke LARS, aerial drones, ROVs and a significant range of equipment for offshore marine and coastal projects.

Our well-equipped laboratories are also fitted with all the tools we need to manage large volumes of analytical work, including niche operations ranging from sediment to eDNA analysis.

Sustainability

Concern for the environment is a key part of our business strategy and we strive to operate as sustainably as we possibly can.

We aim to review our Environmental Policy annually, improving it where we can and implementing changes continually relating to our use of energy, water and waste to reduce our impact on the environment.

To this end, we have already made many practical innovations to our operations and incorporated them into our policies.

We are committed to achieving the highest standards in all aspects of our work. The health and safety of our personnel and other people around us and the safeguarding of the environment underpin all of our operations.

In line with these goals, we have achieved key quality, health and safety and environmental standards and are actively pursuing others.
