Habitat assessments
We provide marine habitat assessment surveys (HAs) around the UK, Europe and in other parts of the world. Our work covers both offshore and inshore including intertidal zones.

Survey and analysis
We provide a similar, comprehensive range of survey techniques and laboratory analysis to those we use in Environmental Baseline Surveys, with a key focus on collecting data that will feed into complex habitat mapping of the seabed. This will include primarily geophysical and seabed imagery data capture and analysis for subtidal HAs, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) data capture and intertidal sampling for intertidal HAs.
Habitat classification data (from seabed imagery or intertidal sampling) will be reviewed alongside geophysical or UAV data to determine habitat extents within the project area. Additionally, predictive habitat modelling can be offered to rapidly classify habitats over large project areas using a combination of geophysical and ground-truth data.
From planning to reporting
Our own consultants and GIS specialists plan habitat assessment surveys to meet our clients’ needs and then analyse the data gathered by the survey and laboratory teams to submit timely and authoritative reports
