Aquaculture
Our experienced teams provide consultancy, analysis, and support at all stages of fin-fish aquaculture operations. We help clients meet environmental and compliance monitoring requirements, offer training and advice in preventative fish health and welfare and expert support in critical situations.
Independent expertise in Scottish aquaculture
We are based in the heart of the Scottish aquaculture industry, with offices and laboratories in Oban.
Our work is focused on helping clients establish their sites and maintain compliance while providing full support in fish health and welfare.
We provide site characterisation services and full support throughout the planning and licensing processes. We help clients meet ongoing SEPA requirements, including seabed surveys for both benthic and SLICE compliance.
Our in-house taxonomists and sediment specialists work to NMBAQC protocols to help ensure timely and accurate data. Facilities include an eDNA laboratory which processes sediment and water samples for a variety of purposes, including compliance. We also offer a wide range of consultancy, expert advice and support in fish health and welfare.
Our approach to fish health is focused on preventative management as well as providing on-call services and support in critical situations.
This work includes health and welfare site visits, assessment and advice including VHWP optimisation, critical biosecurity assessments, Official Veterinary Animal Health Attestations, wellboat inspections and RSPCA-recognised training courses.
Our teams are both independent and experienced and have additional support of our extensive global knowledge network.
