Why work with Ocean Ecology
A holistic service for aquaculture
Our comprehensive suite of services offers solutions to all process involved in monitoring and compliance, including survey, laboratory analysis, and consultancy. We are capable of providing support at all stages of the lifecycle of a fin-fish aquaculture site including site characterisation, planning and licensing, and ongoing SEPA compliance requirements.
SEPA compliance
We conduct SEPA seabed surveys for both benthic and SLICE compliance requirements. Our expert team of over 40 taxonomists and sediment specialists work to stringent QC processes adhering to NMBAQC protocols to facilitate timely delivery of accurate data. Our reporting and consultancy team can then assist in all stages of submission. We remain reactive to regulatory change and strive to provide the most innovative solutions. Following SEPA developments, OEL has opened an eDNA laboratory in Oban capable of processing sediment and water samples for a variety of requirements, including compliance.
