Technical reporting
Our technical reports include in-depth analyses and interpretation of acoustic data, seabed imagery and sediments’ biological and physiochemical characteristics to satisfy the requirements of benthic monitoring programmes for different sectors operating in the marine environment.
Why work with Ocean Ecology?
Evidence-based and data-driven reports
Our Technical Reports provide background and context to each project explaining the aims and objectives of the work undertaken.
A detailed assessment of sensitive habitats and species is undertaken to provide a robust framework for the interpretation of data analysed and any need for mitigation or compensation.
Data is explored to select the most appropriate statistical analyses, including univariate and multivariate techniques to identify spatial and temporal patterns in biotic and abiotic data.
Transparency of data and analyses
Our laboratories participate in the NE Atlantic Marine Biological Quality Control (NMBAQC) scheme for macrobenthic invertebrate and particle size analysis (PSA) to align us with industry best practices.
Seabed imagery is also analysed using Bio-Image Indexing and Graphical Labelling Environment (BIIGLE) annotation.
All statistical analyses are internally QC and data reported in Marine Environmental Data and Information Network (MEDIN) validated format and can be uploaded to Marine Recorder.
