Ocean Ecology acquires Shoreline Surveys Ltd

April 7, 2025

We’re excited to announce that Ocean Ecology has acquired Shoreline Surveys Limited.

Based in Dorset and established in 1998, Shoreline brings decades of experience in nearshore hydrographic and geophysical surveying. Their strong reputation for technical excellence and client-focused delivery makes them a natural strategic fit for the Ocean Ecology Group.

This move builds on over a decade of successful collaboration between the two companies, rooted in mutual trust, shared values, and a commitment to delivering high-quality marine survey services.

Ross Griffin, Ocean Ecology Group Managing Director, said: “Their specialist capabilities in hydrographic and geophysical data acquisition in the nearshore environment perfectly complement our ecological expertise, strengthening our offer of integrated habitat mapping solutions to clients operating in the coastal zone.

“This will be particularly valuable to our expansion in strategically important markets, such as marine renewables and aquaculture.”

Shoreline will continue to operate as a separate entity within the Ocean Ecology Group, with Emile Foote remaining as Managing Director. Business continuity for clients, suppliers, and staff will remain a priority, and we look forward to exploring new opportunities for collaboration across the group.
