We were contracted to support offshore exploration activities through environmental baseline assessments and marine mammal mitigation services. The project aimed to characterise seabed conditions, assess potential environmental sensitivities, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for responsible offshore development.

The Environmental Baseline Survey involved seabed habitat assessments using drop-down cameras, benthic sampling, and water profiling to establish a pre-activity environmental baseline. The collected data provided insights into sediment composition, benthic communities, and habitat classification, supporting environmental assessments and regulatory compliance.
To mitigate potential impacts on marine mammals and sea turtles, we implemented a Marine Mammal Mitigation Plan in accordance with industry guidelines. Trained marine mammal observers and passive acoustic monitoring operators monitored marine fauna, enforced exclusion zones, and ensured the correct implementation of soft-start procedures during acoustic survey activities. All mitigation measures were successfully applied, with one minor delay required when a marine turtle was sighted within the exclusion zone.

Our expertise in marine environmental surveys and mitigation planning, played a key role in supporting offshore operations while ensuring environmental protection. The successful completion of this project highlights our commitment to sustainable offshore exploration and marine conservation.
